Connecting social accounts

A brand with no connected account can be written for but not published to. This is the one piece of setup worth doing carefully.

Connecting one

/brands
  1. 1Open the brand and find its accounts.
  2. 2Choose the platform: Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn or TikTok.
  3. 3Authorise the connection with the client account.
  4. 4You come back to the brand with the account attached.
Note: Connections are brokered by a publishing partner rather than a separate app per network, so one authorisation flow covers every platform.

Connected, disconnected, error

/brands

An account carries a status. Only a connected account can publish, and the getting started checklist only counts connected ones for exactly that reason. A token that expires shows as disconnected and needs reauthorising.

Simulated publishing

Where the publishing integration is not configured, the app runs in a simulated mode: you can add an account by hand, and scheduled posts complete without anything leaving the building. It is there so the workflow can be learned and demonstrated safely.

Tip: Metrics in simulated mode are synthesised. Do not report them to a client.

Importing history

/brands

After connecting, the app can pull in what the account already published, so analytics has history from day one rather than starting at zero.
