Contacts and companies
A company is a business you deal with. A contact is a person, usually at one of those companies. Leads, opportunities, clients, projects and invoices all reference one or both, so these are the records worth keeping tidy.
Companies
/dashboard/companiesThe companies list is searchable and sortable. Opening one shows its contacts, leads, opportunities, projects and audits in one place, which is usually the fastest way to answer "where are we with these people".
Tip: You do not have to create a company before a lead. A lead can carry a plain company name and be attached to a proper company record later.
Contacts
/dashboard/contacts- Name and role
- Who they are and what they do at the company.
- Email, phone and WhatsApp
- Each is unique within your organization, so the CRM will stop you creating the same person twice.
- Company
- Optional. A contact can exist without one.
- Marketing consent
- Recorded separately from the contact details, and consulted before any data is shared with ad networks.
Note: Consent is deliberately three state: recorded, explicitly refused, or never asked. A contact you have never asked is not treated as consenting.
Deleting a record
/dashboard/trashDeleting a company or contact moves it to Trash rather than destroying it. It disappears from lists and searches immediately, and can be restored from there.
