Services, lead sources and custom fields
These are small screens with an outsized effect. Services and lead sources are referenced by records all over the app, and a CRM without them silently loses information you cannot recover later.
Services
/dashboard/settings/servicesThe list of things you sell. Opportunities, projects, revenue records and audit findings all attach to a service, which is what makes the "revenue by service" and "services" reports possible.
Tip: Keep the list short at first. Five or six services you actually sell are more useful than twenty you might.
Lead sources
/dashboard/settings/lead-sourcesThe channels that bring you work: referrals, a specific ad campaign, your website form, an event. Every lead can carry one.
Note: Until at least one source exists, the source picker on the lead form is empty and every lead is saved with no attribution. That data cannot be reconstructed later, so this is worth doing before you start capturing leads.
Custom fields
/dashboard/settings/custom-fieldsDefine an extra field once, choose which record types it applies to, and it appears on those forms and in their detail views. Useful for the one or two things every business tracks that no generic CRM ships with.
