Setting up your workspace

The first time you sign in, the CRM asks for an organization name and a currency. That creates your workspace. Everything after that is optional, but a handful of settings make the rest of the app considerably more useful.

Your organization

/onboarding
  1. 1Enter the name of your business. This appears in the sidebar and on documents you send.
  2. 2Pick a three letter currency code, for example GHS or USD. Every amount in the CRM is shown in it.
  3. 3Create the organization. You become its admin.
Note: This screen runs once. Afterwards the same fields live under Settings, Organization, where you can change them at any time.

Name, currency and revenue goal

/dashboard/settings/organization
Organization name
Shown in the sidebar. It also doubles as the typed confirmation when you reset your data, so it is not purely cosmetic.
Currency
A three letter code. Applied to opportunities, quotes, invoices and revenue.
Monthly revenue goal
Turns the goal card on the dashboard from a prompt into a progress bar.
Note: Organization settings are admin only. Members see the rest of the CRM but cannot change these.
Name, currency and the monthly revenue goal the dashboard tracks against.

The getting started checklist

/dashboard

The checklist on your dashboard is worth following in order. The first two items are configuration that quietly affects everything after them.

  1. 1Add your lead sources, so every lead can be attributed and the source charts have something to plot.
  2. 2List the services you sell, because opportunities, projects, revenue records and audit findings all attach to one.
  3. 3Add a company or contact.
  4. 4Capture your first lead.
  5. 5Open your first opportunity.
  6. 6Set your monthly revenue goal, and invite your team.
Tip: Steps tick from real records, not from a stored flag. If you delete the record behind a step it un-ticks itself, so the list never claims you are further along than you are.
